Testimonials
Over 25 years of community-based arts leadership, Eliza has worked with hundreds of children, teaching artists, school administrators, community leaders, organizational collaborators, and parents across Chicago and Tel Aviv (and some in London, Cyprus and Hong Kong!) Here are a few reflections from those communities on what they had to say about Creative Consciousing, The ARC and Eliza's creative leadership.
"Eliza combines warmth and authority in rare balance, protecting the spirit and individuality of children, while leading adults with clarity and rigor... preserving bold creative leadership."

Eliza stands out as a rare combination of visionary educator and strategic leader. During nearly a decade of collaboration, she was a true strategic partner who elevated children, educators, and the culture of our entire school community.

Eliza combines warmth and authority in rare balance, protecting children’s individuality while leading adults with clarity and rigor. She managed with exceptional professionalism a full ecosystem— curriculum, recruitment, parents, and daily schedules. Her teacher trainings were sophisticated and reflective, consistently improving our team’s creative practice. Eliza does not simply run programs, she advances educational innovation through relational practice.

I also entrusted my own children to her programs, as I watched her grow The ARC more than threefold, maintaining depth, rigor, and vision. Eliza navigates complex systems with intelligence and steadiness, preserving bold creative leadership. I would not hesitate to happily hand over one of our schools to her because she has the rare ability to guide both classrooms and organizations. Any community seeking meaningful educational innovation would be fortunate to have her in a leadership role.
I work in tech and spend much of my time thinking about AI — not just the technology itself, but what it means for work, meaning, and society. If you try to draw one simple conclusion it’s this: the most important human trait going forward will be curiosity. And Eliza’s programs are built around cultivating exactly that.

There was always a stark contrast between a regular school day and an afternoon at Eliza’s. School reinforces answers; Eliza creates environments where questions thrive. My children would come home with unexpected observations, new ways of seeing ordinary things, and stories about turning “garbage” into something meaningful or exploring parts of Tel Aviv they otherwise never would have noticed.

This wasn’t something you could download as a course. It was lived. Eliza didn’t just teach creativity — she intentionally nurtured curiosity as a skill. In a world increasingly shaped by AI, that may be one of the most important things we can give our children.

I worked with Eliza through The ARC and knew her before it became what it was— when we were simply parents in the same community. Watching her grow her vision was something special. She never chased trends or tried to please. She stayed true to the heart of her work and let it grow organically.
Eliza has a rare ability to bring people together around creativity in a way that feels natural and nourishing— like a well-prepared meal shared at the right table. Children feel seen. Parents feel reassured. Educators feel supported rather than instructed. There is something almost Mary Poppins about her, but with serious magic, the kind that works on children and on adults too.
I’ve loved following her writing and speaking over the years, and our many conversations about parenting, play, and building meaningful work shaped my own thinking as an entrepreneur. She listens deeply, reflects honestly, and gives generously.
Eliza does this work because she truly cares, not as a brand, but as a person invested in the wellbeing of children and community. What she created was beautiful, and it left a lasting mark. We miss her here, but I’m following along to see what she will create next. Lucky folks out there!

I have been perpetually blown away by how incredible Eliza is at uniting people— big and small— with her creativity, her ideas, her community-inspiring vibes, and her seemingly-infinite energy. When I first arrived in Tel Aviv, a close Israeli friend of ours insisted that I had to meet her, describing her as “The glue of the Tel Aviv Anglo-community.” Who would have imagined that to be an understatement?

In these last ten years I have been privileged to be included in countless events—from her inspired art camps (which my son attended as an enthusiastic lil’ camper) to the Halloweens Eliza made magical in a formerly Halloween-less Tel Aviv. She has never failed to arouse imagination, excitement, and the appetite for more.

Tel Aviv misses Eliza so and we are envious of the community that has inherited her and her wondrous talents and gifts. Wishing that you will come back to us—as soon as life permits!

Eliza brought something truly special into our kids' lives. Liv and Ozzie came home from her sessions buzzing — not just with things they made, but with a kind of creative confidence that’s hard to describe.
Eliza has this rare ability to hold space for children in a way that lets them feel safe enough to express themselves and truly play without judgment or overprotection.

Years back we wrote you that O was so excited for camp - every day for week (weekday and weekend) he woke up and asked 'today I am going to Eliza?'

Eliza didn’t just teach art or creativity — she was deeply tuned in to the kids and had the ability to see into them, to truly understand what drives them and how to help them grow in all aspects, not just art. She is all about creating a place where kids could imagine, create, and simply be kids.

The program Mika, my daughter, participated in was far more than a typical after-school class. It was a creative, living educational space — almost a small “pocket haven” — that brought together children from across the neighborhood, from diverse backgrounds, all sharing a common language: English.

Within this space, the children engaged in meaningful, long-term projects that encouraged curiosity, collaboration, and a deep connection to their surroundings. A large, ongoing project gave the children a strong sense of ownership, purpose, and pride.

Above all, it is important to highlight Eliza as the creator and facilitator of the program. Eliza is an exceptional and deeply inspiring educator. She has a rare sensitivity and an extraordinary ability to truly see each child — noticing the smallest details, understanding their emotional worlds, and reaching places that very few adults are able to reach. Through her presence, she creates a space where children feel seen, valued, and empowered to grow.

We miss Eliza deeply, and we know that anyone who has the opportunity to experience her knowledge and creativity is truly fortunate.
